This is wonderful
4 night guided walking break based
in Lisdoonvarna, Co Clare. Lisdoonvarna
is a natural health spa centre, well
known for its traditional music and
annual match-making festival in September.
An ideal centre to explore the Burren
and only 40 minutes from Shannon airport.
The Burren is a remarkable area of more
than 100 square miles of limestone karst
landscape, which is home to a remarkable
variety of flora – Arctic, Mediterranean
and Alpine. Most Burren flora and many
archaeological sites are encountered
on routes which take the visitor to the
heart of the Burren within sort time
spans. The Burren contains megalithic
dolmens and cairns, bronze age cooking
sites, Celtic ring forts, medieval church
sites and castles, ancient field systems
and holy wells of the recent past.

A walk on one of the Burren’s green
roads overlooking the Atlantic Coast gives
a gentle introduction to a wonderful landscape.
A refreshment stop at Ballynalackan Castle
can be followed by a visit to the internationally-known
Cliffs of Moher.

The experience of the Burren is enhanced on
a walk on the domed limestone of a mountain
overlooking Galway Bay. Another green road
leads to Fanore Beach, an opportunity for a
dip if you are in the mood - and the weather
permits.
Discover the rock garden of the Burren, it’s
shoreline, limestone fissures, grasslands
and
hazel woods.
