Kerry Gems - April 2008
"I had a grand time. The walks were varied and challenging and the scenery marvellous. Bridget was knowledgeable about the sites and history and did a great job in leading the group. The service is outstanding. The accommodations are lovely. I appreciated having free internet available. Breakfasts are excellent."

ADVENTUROUS WENCHES IN IRELAND, July 2007

Day 1:
We left Bunratty Castle and took off for Dingle Bay,
then some of us went shopping, others hiked where the Folly lay.
At great Lord Baker's restaurant we ate our fill of fish,
then headed to a pub, for Irish music we did wish.

Day 2:
We braved the wind, we braved the rain, slogged down the boggy trail.
But when we had to ford the creeks we all let out a wail.
We slipped and sloshed from rock to rock, and Nathan's hand was steady,
and when we faced the sheep-dip pool it made us feel quite giddy.

Day 3:
The rain was intermittent now, we nearly could ignore it,
and when we had to pull on hoods we all just grinned and bore it.
Ross Castle, island abbey, and a jaunting car were fine,
and when we got to Carrig House we felt things were sublime.

Day 4;
The Skellig's weren't an option, so we turned to things artistic.
Root sculptures and creations made of felt were not simplistic.
But oh, the joy that evening, as we settled after dinner!
To hear an Irish story-teller made the day a winner.

Day 5:
The hardy did the Skelligs, and land-lubbers rode on horses.
Adventurous Wenches are quite free to set their own best courses.
The evening at Blind Piper was a feast of some dimension,
and after, in an ancient church, harp music claimed attention.

Day 6;
In a trip back to the Iron Age, an ancient fort we saw,
and then the Cliffs of Moher filled our hearts with wondrous awe.
We bounced along the country lanes, our driver was quite fearless,
and when some guys were mean to him he wasn't ever cheerless.

Day 7:
Now most of us are hikers, and we also like to shop,
so splitting up was handy, and we each could choose our hop.
And now in the castle library we lift our pint of ale
to toast our fellow wenches in this captivating tale.
