Michael is our Camino de Santiago guide. Michael grew up in West Cork and went to school in Dublin and Cork City. He worked for many years in the area of Training & Development as a state employee and private consultant before getting the walking bug!
He began hillwalking and trekking in the 1990’s and is a founder member of his local walking group which meet regularly to walk at home and abroad.
His first visit to the Camino was in 2004 with twenty five club members who walked the final stage into Santiago and since then his passion for this route has brought him to guiding many trips and people along the Pilgrim’s route.
He is an avid Camino walker and has walked his third full French Camino, the Portuguese route from Lisbon, the Camino Primativo from Oviedo etc, not to mention some multi day walks here at home like The Barrow Navigation, the Kerry Way and so on.
He has also trekked in South America, climbed Kilimanjaro, and has been to Everest Base Camp six times, being Trek Leader on the Pat Falvey led 2003 and 2004 expeditions.
