Day 1 – Arrival Day
Welcome to Killarney and ‘The Kingdom’ of Kerry. On arrival you may have some time to wander around the beautiful town centre or have a quick walk in Killarney House & Gardens before settling into your accommodation. Relax and take time to read your cycle pack and notes and maps for your week ahead.
Overnight in Killarney.
Day 2 – Killarney to Kenmare
26.5 miles/40km
Collect your bike close to your accommodation and test it out before setting off from Killarney town passed Killarney National Park taking in panoramic views, travelling through the Robber’s Den and Roughty Valley passing through the little village of Kilgarvan and onto to Kenmare.
Overnight in the heritage town of Kenmare.

Day 3 – Kenmare to Castletownbere
33 miles/53km
Today’s cycle is a tough but rewarding one taking you from Kenmare along Kenmare Bay through the village of Lauragh and crossing the county border before the village of Ardgroom and through the colourful village of Eyeries. Cycling onto the fishing town of Castletownbere, largest town on the Beara Peninsula, where there are many archaeological sites and where you will stay for the next 2 nights.

Day 4 – Castletownbere – Allihies – Eyeries – Castletownbere
25 miles/40km
Today’s cycle is a circular one from Castletownbere, which takes you through the most beautiful part of the ring of Beara at a more relaxing pace due to its circuit nature. Enjoy the views and the picturesque villages taking time to stop and chat to the locals.

Day 5 – Castletownbere to Glengarriff
28 miles/45km
Today you leave the fishing town of Castletownbere to cycle along the coast to the beautiful village of Glengariff. Today’s highlight is cycling the Healy Pass, the scenic mountain route linking both sides of the Peninsula passing Ireland’s highest waterfall in Hungry Hill and onto Adrigole before encountering the Oak Woods just outside Glengariff Village.
Once in Glengariff you have a chance to take a boat and visit Garnish Island, which is renowned for the richness of its plant life.

Day 6 – Glengarriff to Kenmare
22.5 miles/35km
Today you are heading back to Kenmare however this time taking the inland route. Cross over the border again into Kerry by cycling through a series of tunnels cut into the mountains, taking in the fantastic views over the valleys below before reaching the bustling town of Kenmare.

Day 7 – Kenmare to Killarney
20 miles/32km
We have kept the best until last! This is probably the most scenic day of your tour. Leaving Kenmare cycle up through Molls Gap, stopping at the most amazing viewing point at Ladies View and down through the oldest Oak forest in Ireland, passing the shores of the upper lake Killarney and on into Kilalrney National Park and Muckross before returning your bike.

Day 8 – Departure Day
‘All good things must come to an end’. Enjoy your final hot cooked Irish breakfast and you’re ready to go. Killarney bus and train stations provide several transfer options for you to continue on your journey. Slán abhaile – safe home!
