The magnificent Skellig Islands lie 8 miles (12 km) off the coast of Portmagee in South West Kerry. Rising majestically from the sea, Skellig Michael towers 714ft. (218 metres) above sea level. On the summit of this awe-inspiring rock you will find a remarkably well preserved sixth century monastic settlement. On the spectacular Small Skelligs 23,000 pairs of gannet nest on every available ledge making it the second largest gannet colony in the world.
The Eagle 3 will depart from the Skellig Experience Centre on Valentia Island over the bridge from Portmagee, Co Kerry. On the morning of departure please make your way to the Centre. You can park your car here free of charge.
Please check in with staff here by 09:00 where you will be given the update about your boat departure. Your boat ticket includes your entry into the centre exhibitions.
Prior to the boat departure you will have time to register, take a tour of the Skellig Centre and view the safety film provided.
The Eagle 3 departure is set for 10.00am. Cruising time to Skellig Michael is approx. 1 hour. This gives you approximately 2.5 hours on the island itself. The boat returns to the centre by 14.30 hrs. Please dress appropriately with proper walking gear and come prepared for any type of weather especially with rain gear and sun cream. You also need good quality walking boots with good ankle support and cleated soles.
Please be aware that the walk/ climb is over steep slopes and drops.

Refunds will only be given on days that sailings are cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. The Skipper’s decision is final.
No refunds will be given if you cancel your booking after confirmation or if you are a no show on the day of departure.
